“"manicured" wilderness”

Very long sites, paved roads, many hiking trails. Learned a lot at the museum, saw Christmas lights being readied/tested for the Christmas festival in December, visited the craft village and learned from the artisans how their products are made. Check their calendar of events. We already booked for the music festival in March. Very southern, quiet and peaceful. Carillon plays Stephen Foster melodies on the hour during daytime.

We stayed on Oct 14 2016 and the peak was beautiful and very well maintained. Will be visiting again and again!

“Spacious sites”

Beautiful park with the most spacious sites we've seen. Museum about Stephen Foster has beautiful dioramas worth seeing. Nice gift shop with local crafts. Hot water for showers but restrooms are unheated so a bit chilly in January.

“Great Site”

Hard to get campground, makes for an interesting stay. Always something going on to experience. Nice sites, nice bathrooms. Because of foliage, satellite reception maybe difficult at some locations :-)
