“Great spot”

Really cool little park right on the ocean.

“Great Park”

Another four days stay at Pacific Beach State Park.

This stay the park has printed instructions: how to check in and use the 'yellow reservations phone' right next to phone (see instructions photo). This is still a reservations required SP. But there might be an empty campsite available, if you didn't make reservation ahead of your visit?

“This park is next to the Pacific Ocean”

Great park. Great ocean beach access for view and walking. This is a reservation required State Park; therefore, you take a chance for one night stay if you just show up at park to see what RV sites might be available.

All utility sites are electric power service only and some are 50-Amp but most are 30-Amp.

What is new since our last visit is a 'yellow ring-down phone' at Ranger's building front porch area; it follows, the new park check in process is to use this 'yellow' phone to check in to your reserved site on arrival if you already have reservation or if you select an available overnight site; therefore, the 'yellow' phone is used to report your site selected that is not occupied for night and the instruction about use of pay envelope available next to 'yellow' phone.

I think this---for example, with this new 'yellow' registration phone has a benefit that the camper using the 'yellow' phone can get the 'real-time' park site occupancy availability because the 'yellow' phone connects to the State Parks reservations center that has the most-current Pacific Beach site reservation and site cancellation information available by this telephone. Also there is a ranger posted paper listing of what sites would be available for one-night stay for the night of the availability listing.

During our stay a 'Camp Host' was on duty with hoste RV site to supplement the day visits of the State Parks Ranger. Rest rooms clean and well maintained but nothing fancy and if you want a hot shower you need to purchase tokens at the park.

This is a great park for up close ocean view and the town of Pacific Beach is within close walking distance (newspaper, coffee, gas, propane, and store).

If you want Pacific Ocean beach walking and Ocean view from the RV, I recommend this Pacific Beach State Park.

Good food can be found close by (just a little N of Pacific Beach Town) at "Pacific Beach Facility" (Google maps) restaurant.
