We called and asked about availability for one night. Lady was not very friendly but took our name and said there was availability. When we realized they close at 4.30 pm and we wouldn't make it we called again. Same lady asked if we had reservations, we said yes that we had called. We got a annoyed lecture that if we hadn't booked online we hadn't reserved. We're staying at another rv park tonight (midessa oil patch), the lady was super sweet.

“Great find.”

Only reason for the 4 stars is because there is no sewer at the sites. But, great views, quite, very easy in and out makes this a great stop for one night or more. Highly recommend this State Park.

“Sandy Stayover”

State Park off of I20 then North a short way. If after hours arrival pick your own spot and pay upon leaving. Lots of sand and beautiful sunset pics to be had. Very quiet. Full hook ups with covered picnic tables. Bathrooms very clean. Would stay again

“Lots of sand”

Lots of sand. No shade. Showers and rest rooms very clean. Ok for an overnight stay if you need to stop for the night.

“Beautiful and fun!”

This place is so neat! It was $23 for us, two adults and two kids under 12 from out of state. Showers are nice, it's very quiet here. Kids had a blast on the sand dunes!

Nice and quiet place for relaxing! Beautiful Sandhills!

“A pleasant surprise!”

We were on our way to Big Bend National Park and were looking for an overnight facility in which to stay. This park is part of the State of Texas park system and sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. The office closes at 4:30 pm each day. Late arrivers should find a site and hook up. No sewer connection but a nice clean bath house, good showers and toilets are nearby. Plenty of good, hot water. A ranger will come around the next morning to collect the fee of $15.00 plus $2.00 for each of us as resident Seniors. The office opens at 8:30 am and accepts credit cards and of course, cash. The sand hills are interesting and fun to climb. We camped in a Casita travel trailer.
