“Would avoid -- much better parks in the area”

Sites are horribly un-level (for some reason they have a partial cement pad and then it drops off to dirt and then the bulkhead). Not much beach. Staff extremely unfriendly and didn't know anything about the park they were working at.

Would try to book ahead for Faria -- nice, relaxing spot by water that seemed a lot less windy, people were super friendly, and it had great little food place there -- the sweet potato fries were yummy!

This state Beach has both positive and negative aspects. Just realize that this is a state park with no amenities. It has a great views with the RV right next to the rocks/beach but the sites are extremely close and tight. Parking can be a problem! We would stay here again!

“Just amazing!!!”

We visited this lovely place on our holidays and roudtrip towards the USA. At the weekend of Memorial Day, we needed a campground and we found Emma Wood State Beach. The very friendly and kind stuff member at the entrance gave the last campsite, which was actually just for emergencys, but it was the best. Some feets away from the other visitors with a small fire place and a brilliant view over the ocean. Thank you for this expierence!
P.S.: This place seems not to have any extras :)

“beautiful ”

we stayed one night
the beach is awesome and the staff is nice
but for 40 $ you only geht a parking space with fire ring and nice view
trains are running by from time to time
but we enjoyed the night there

“Primitive and Pricey”

You camp on the beach, and by beach they mean a rocky beach. The campsites are uneven, the trains are loud, and it's $40, on a weekday, off season. No hookups, barely any cell coverage, so 3 stars maybe generous, but it is on the beach, no reservations off season. But you will definitely need them April-Sept.

“Emma Wood Campground for Ventura Raceway accommodations.”

We always stay at Emma Wood State Beach Campground during our Senior Sprints, Dwarf Cars, Hobby Stocks, Focus Midgets, Sport Compacts, and Mod Lites fall racing excursion to Ventura Raceway, over at Ventura County Fairgrounds, California.

So peaceful and quiet at Emma Wood Campground, after a long day at our VRA races. Always good folks there too. See the Pacific Ocean's old WWII artillery ruins (bath), and relax at The Denkes Fire Pit at night. Come have a cold one with the boys!

Recommended by my wifes Coworker we went and fell in love! It was $30 a night but worth the beach water so close

“We love staying here”

Camping 20' from the ocean.
No tents allowed. Motor home and trailer only.
There are no shade trees, but it's not necessary right on the beach.

Walking distance ( approx 2 miles) to Main Street Ventura with antique shopping and great dining
