“Nice park”

It's a very nice park, too bad every time we stay there, we get kicked out when the weekend comes around because it's booked up. I don't think state parks should take reservations. It should be first come first served. Otherwise, is a nice, quiet place with laundry and a swimming beach. Lots of room to walk the dogs.

“Geared towards families ”

Just overnight for us. Lots of families with lots of tents, bikes etc. Probably mostly local people here for longer stays. Our site was not at level or shaded. Probably would not return

“Excellent campground”

Great stop. Very popular with locals on weekends, so reserve ahead of time. A great view is possible if you study the map. Laundry facility very clean ($1.75 to wash, $1.25 to dry). Yes, you pay for showers but it keeps the riff raff out and there are no lines. We loved the bike path that took us all over town. We stayed two weeks in our Class A motorhome. “Great Place to Stay”

Stayed at Boyd Lake State Park from June 26th through July 3rd. Great place to stay during the Colorado Sparkler. The staff is friendly and park is beautiful. The camp sites are level for ease of setup. The restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The showers are a quarter a minute with a seventy five cent minimum. Will highly recommend this park to my family and friends.
Stayed: 06/05/15 to 06/07/15

“Boyd Lake State Park CO”

Loop D 109 29' travel trailer.

We camped with our FCRV group for a total of 6 families. The campground was sold out as it normally is this time of year.

The pads are pull through and level (took me 3 minutes to level the rig), but just barely enough for our rig and truck. Rangers will ding you for parking on the grass. Electric only which is fine for a short stay. The grounds are well kept and the showers were clean. Bring quarters, 25 cents per minute, 75 cents to start. I don't have a problem with that, but did not avail myself.

Alcohol is NOT permitted. That said, so long as you are discrete and not obviously intoxicated, Rangers will not hassle you. They seem to be tolerant so long as you do not disturb others, but will ticket you and boot you without hesitation if you become a problem.

I would have given 5 stars, but one of those nice Rangers poured out $40 worth of Crown (he could have ticketed me at $180). They lose one star because the lad giggled as he abused my booze.
